Naturally resistant
Iroko’s dense grain gives it excellent natural resistance to rot, decay and insect attack — without relying on chemical treatment.
Low maintenance
Iroko needs very little looking after. Left untreated, it weathers to a beautiful silver-grey patina for a sun-washed, rustic look.
Strong & stable
Excellent strength properties, and dimensionally stable — it resists shrinking and warping as humidity changes through the seasons, so your gate stays true.

Leave it natural, or add lasting protection
Iroko can be left completely untreated to weather naturally to that soft silver-grey patina over time.
Alternatively, we offer a service to apply two coats of protective oil before your gate leaves our workshop, giving it extra protection against the weather and helping preserve its rich colour. To make sure every joint is sealed, we apply the first coat while the gate is still in component form, and the second once it’s fully assembled.
Every gate in our range — in the timber you want
Any gate design in our range can be made in Iroko hardwood, from flat top and curved top cottage gates through to our entrance and estate designs. And if you’d prefer a different hardwood, we can make any of our designs in other timbers on request, such as Oak or Accoya. Just ask.
